This is how we make dinner for ourselves. For us a good
meal is something you can make after you get home from work.
We
work until 7:oo pm all week. Making a sauce in
the time
it takes for the pasta to boil is how we grew up eating.
Recipes are good for giving you ideas. We usually
start with whatever ingredients we have, so we added some recipes that use whatever you have in the house, or what you can get from a quick trip to the store.
With fresh vegetables
(Baby
Eggplant pg. 20), fresh fish (Salmon Sauce pg. 56) or meat
(Sausage and Peppers pg. 44) you can make a great dinner
with real food.
Because it’s something we love we included one of our big holiday meals (Christmas Eve Sauce pg. 64), and a couple great unique dinners (Pasta con Sarde pg. 60) and a squid ink sauce (Black Sauce pg. 62). Also just for fun we included detailed step-by-step recipes for making your own fresh pasta (pg. 16) and gnocchi (pg. 18) for the days
when you want
to play around in the kitchen a little more.
